Pietro Andrea Andreini

Villa I Busini owner from 1719 until 1729

Pietro Andrea Andreini, son of Maria Busini and her first husband, Girolamo Andreini, inherited Villa I Busini from his mother in 1719.

In 1670, Pietro Andrea married Isabella Marsuppini, who bore him two daughters before her early death. As a widower, Pietro Andrea devoted his time to his studies and became a connoisseur of antique objets d’art (an art consultant.)

He was frequently consulted by famous art collectors and scholars, including by scholar, patron of the arts, and Governor of Siena, Cardinal Leopoldo de’ Medici, who would approach Pietro Andrea for coin and gemstone valuations.

Between 1674 and 1687, Pietro Andrea resided in Naples as Consul to the Florentine Nation.  He was a close friend to important nobles of the time, such as Queen Christina of Sweden.

As a dedicated art collector, Pietro Andrea gathered Etruscan and Roman archaeological finds, including ancient inscriptions, bronzeworks, sculptures, coins, and gemstones. Occasionally pieces from his collection become available for sale in reputable auction houses across the globe. He was also very interested in matters of chivalry and many of his writings on this subject have survived to this day.
