The Marble Salon
& Dining Room
Connected to both The Portrait Salon and The Library, The Marble Salon opens up to the front terrace of Villa I Busini. As the name suggests, The Marble Salon boasts a beautiful white and green hexagonal marble tile floor, typical of the Renaissance era. The prized white grey marble, which was also used to create Renaissance sculptures, comes from the city of Carrara in the Northern part of Tuscany, not far from Villa I Busini.
The multipurpose salon can accommodate dinner parties for up to 14 guests. Weather permitting, meals may also be served on the front terrace of Villa I Busini, but during the cooler months and crisp Spring and Autumn days, evening meals are enjoyed in The Marble Salon.
The large stone period mantelpiece is the only one in the Villa made of marble and it subtly complements the hand-decorated walls that resemble polychrome marble panels. These walls are reminiscent of those that adorn the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore (the Florence Cathedral).
The purposely built corner bar also makes The Marble Salon the perfect place for pre-dinner cocktails, or after-dinner digestives.
