Named after Barone Girolamo Andreini, first husband of Maria Busini who became the owner of the Villa in 1694, The Girolamo Superior Room may be the smallest bedroom in Villa I Busini, but it lacks no charm.
Watching over the room, a detail from the 17th century portrait of the iconic, because of the eye-patch she wore, Princess of Eboli, painted by Alonso Sánchez Coello. complementing the delicate shades of marigold which were highly fashionable in the 18th century.
Girolamo and Maria’s son, Pietro Antonio Andreini, became a famous connoisseur of antique objets d’art and an art consultant to Cardinal Leopoldo de’ Medici. The Girolamo Superior Room is a tribute to the family’s appreciation for elegant artwork.
