The Loggia
First Floor
The Loggia was built around the Atrium, which was once home to a courtyard.
It’s delightful dark-coffered ceilings, decorated with golden rosettes, and the elegant wall frescoes in their hues of blues and pastels, contrast and complement the stone door frames and solid dark wooden doors.
The notable panel in The Loggia was a gift to Francesco Busini from the della Robbia atelier, whose works of art are found in world-class art museums today, including the Uffizi Gallery and the Louvre. The message on the panel reads:
ANNO M

YEAR 1520
This panel made for
Franciescho d’ 'Antonio Busini

Strolling through The Loggia takes you back in time to the Villa’s Renaissance history and provides a glimpse of the artistic appreciation of the times.
