Our Wines

When most of us think about Italian wine, images of Tuscany immediately come to mind. The picturesque rolling hillsides, majestic vineyards, rows of cypress trees, gated medieval cities, and Renaissance castles are all home to Italy’s most famous wine regions.

Villa I Busini and it’s surrounding estate vineyards sit proudly on the slopes of the Ponimo mountain region, on the Chianti Rùfina and Pomino Route (the wine road that meanders from Chianti Rùfina to Pomino).

This unique geographical location is home to three renowned wine regions, namely Chianti Rùfina, Colli Fiorentini (both known for their Chianti), and Pomino.

As our focus has always been quality, the quantity of grapes produced by our estate is limited and we combine our harvest with that of prestigious neighboring estates to produce exceptional wines. Our partner estate has been producing fine wines since 1573. They own vineyards in the Chianti Classico region and the nearby hills of Florence, known as Chianti Colli Fiorentini.

Our Villa I Busini Bianco and Rosso wines have been expertly prepared, sampled, and selected by our winemaker and owners, along with family and close friends.

Villa I Busini Bianco features 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Grigio grape varieties. Aged in oak barrels prior to bottling, this elegant wine has a delicate bouquet aroma, a beautiful straw-golden color with subtle green hues, and a rich, fruit-forward finish.

Villa I Busini Rosso features 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. Its deep red color, well-balanced bouquet, and fresh aromatic complexity is achieved by aging the wine in oak barrels for a period of almost two years, before bottled the wine and further refining it for 10 months prior to serving.

Since no meal in Tuscany is complete without Vin Santo, a dessert wine known by locals as “holy wine,” Villa I Busini also produces a traditional Vin Santo wine. Our Vin Santo Del Chianti is produced with Trebbiano Toscano and Chianti’s Malvasia Bianca grape varieties. Only the very best grapes are selected and then laid out to dry on straw mats before the wine making process begins. Its deep golden-yellow color is achieved with a minimum of four years of barrel aging, followed by at least six months in the bottle prior to serving. Once ready, our Vin Santo’s complex bouquet and rich palate, reminiscent of dried fruits, has an undeniably refined finish.

When paired with biscotti, Vin Santo becomes Cantucci e Vin Santo, one of Italy’s most famous welcoming traditions and after-dinner pleasures.

All Villa I Busini house wines are available with our compliments throughout the duration of your stay. They may be enjoyed with a meal, or as a guilty pleasure any time of the day or night. Sip a delicious chilled Bianco poolside, enjoy a bold Rosso with a decadent cheese pairing at sunset, and indulge in our Vin Santo as a late night aperitif.

Should you wish to enjoy other regional wines during your stay, we are happy to accommodate you and will share our wine list and pricing upon request
